Hair Treatments

Hair diseases refer to conditions affecting the scalp and hair. These conditions can manifest themselves in a variety of ways and have a variety of causes.

Most common hair conditions

  • Alopecia: it is normal to lose between 60 and 100 hairs per day evenly distributed on the head. But if the loss is concentrated in individual areas or on top it is called alopecia and can be caused by several factors, such as genetics, autoimmune diseases, stress and nutritional deficiencies.
  • Seborrheic dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin that causes scaling, itching and redness of the scalp. It can be caused by a fungus called Malasseiza, genetics and hormonal changes.
  • Scalp psoriasis: Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that causes scaly, red patches on the skin, including the scalp.
  • Fungal scalp infections: certain fungi can infect the scalp and cause flaking, itching and redness.
  • Hair disorders: Hair disorders are diseases that affect the hair structure, such as alopecia areata, trichotillomania and hair fragility.

There are different treatments for hair diseases, depending on the specific condition. Some of them are:

1-Medicamentos-tópicos

Medications

They can be topical or systemic and are prescribed according to the specific capillary disease. For example, topical or injectable corticosteroids can be used for alopecia.

2-Fototerapia

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapies

This technique consists of injecting a platelet-rich plasma solution into the scalp, which contains growth factors that can stimulate hair growth. It is mainly used to treat androgenetic alopecia.
